Fraud and Scams
Recognising Fraud and Scams
Fraud and scams are becoming more common, especially online and over the phone. Criminals may pretend to be a genuine, authorised firm to trick you into giving them money or personal information.
This page explains how to recognise scams, what Loans 2 Go Limited will and will not do, and what steps to take if you are worried.
Important warning – please read
Loans 2 Go will never:
- Ask you to pay an upfront or “release” fee
- Ask you to buy vouchers (such as iTunes or gift cards)
- Ask you to send money urgently by bank transfer, MoneyGram, or Western Union
- Ask for your passwords or PINs
If anyone does any of the above while claiming to be Loans 2 Go, it is a scam.
If you are unsure, stop and contact us directly before taking any action.

- Encourage you to contact us directly if you are unsure
- Never pressure you to act immediately
We do not:

Signs that something may be a scam
It might be a scam if:
- Someone contacts you unexpectedly
- You are asked to act quickly or “miss out”
- You are asked to pay in an unusual way (for example vouchers or money transfer services)
- You are asked to share personal information such as passwords or PINs
- The email or message comes from a personal address (for example Gmail or Yahoo)
- You have not received clear written confirmation of what has been agreed
If something feels wrong, trust your instincts and stop.
Example scam scenario
You receive a call from someone saying they are from Loans 2 Go and that your loan is approved, but you must pay a £150 fee today to receive the money.
This is a scam because:
- We do not charge upfront fees
- We do not pressure customers to act immediately
End the call and contact us directly using our official contact details.
What to do if you are contacted and feel unsure
- Do not reply, click links, or give information
- End the call or close the message
